Seahart is a Jakarta-based technology startup. Co-founded by Stephen Chow, Yoshua Andrean, Daniel Wijono, all have work in Ralali.com, Gojek and Accenture. Yoshua and Daniel both have more than 4 years engineering experience. The company product is Seahart Android and iOS app.
Seahart is a post-social media app that make you to share every little things in life, to make you feel more grateful and enable more conversation between families and life friends.
In 2017, Seahart started as an app to solve Stephen personal problem which is a need for a new communication form. The idea come from when Stephen is writing a very long messages and then hesitate to send it to his best friend in WhatsApp, Stephen is wondering why is he taking so many hesitation in sending a message, what wrong with the app? Then he do some research about messaging app and texting in general and he realised that age of text messaging technology is over 30 years and in 2017 there is little to no major improvement on that technology. Stephen began to experiencing a new concept of talking-like messaging app for Seahart version one. After creating a design UI mockup, Stephen began to apply the idea to several startup idea competition like Facebook and Startup Weekend events, and got rejected.
First of all we want to thank our Parents that enable us to chase this kind of opportunity.
After graduation in 2019, Stephen continue to chase this idea. Stephen start looking for technical co-founder to code Seahart into real app. After months of searching in online forum and hundreds of on-site startup events, Stephen found one lead engineer who is interested in the idea. In September 2019, Seahart version one is launched and gain almost 300 users within two weeks. After one month of launch, huge retention issues occurred. Users are not coming back to Seahart App. After months of brainstorming, we pivoting the Seahart app to focus on social app instead of messaging app to solve a more serious problem which is the unsafe of today social media. Seahart recruit new iOS engineer as co-founder to conquer Apple land. Now we are a complete team, ready to fix a problem.
